Easter Comes Early

We decided to celebrate Easter a little early. We were just too excited and could not wait... Actually, we are going to DISNEYLAND this Saturday and realized that we would not be able to celebrate Easter in California so we did it one week before. We couldn't afford to go all out, you know ham, company's potatoes, delicious salad, rolls, and of course the amazing Easter basket my mom always made us kids. So we kept it simple, waffles and eggs! And you can't have an Easter without an Easter egg hunt. We bought a package of 12 eggs. So we each got six eggs to hide for the other person. Then we each picked out one of favorite candies. Of course I picked something chocolate (snickers) and chewy picked Starburst Jelly Beans, not the best, but a good choice. Then we got one "special treat". hahaha Cadbury egg all the way for me, Reese's for him.
So I went first and hid his six eggs somewhere in our tiny apartment. It was so much fun. I have to say that we got pretty creative at our hiding spots.

hmmm too bad they are all almost gone now.

Looking for my eggs. I did a better job at hiding them than Chewy.

Right before he started looking. He looks so.....happy

Attempting to find the eggs I hid so well. Nope, keep looking.

And he DID IT!!!!! Dang candy is expensive. It was like 3 bucks for a tiny bag of bite size snickers. Rip Off

Cookin' Cupcakes

This past semester me and Chewy were called onto the activities committee, and we have loved it! We were charge of this last activity and the bishopric wanted a cook-off. We decided to mix it up a little bit and do a "priesthood cook-off" dessert style. It was a blast watching all the guys get into it. They actually made some pretty tasty treats. Chewy made one of my favorites, red velvet cake and cream cheese frosting.

hmmmmm.....SO GOOD!

Icing away

He worked so hard, and didn't even win. Maybe next year.

Ties, Ties, Ties

Is it ever possible for a man to have too many ties? For missionaries it is their only variety to clothing, so it would seem that they can never have enough ties. But what about just a normal guy, say like Chewy, who only wears a suit and tie once a week to church. Can he have too many ties? Answer...YES!!!! He has two hangers dedicated to nothing but holding up his many ties, and they always seem to fall, slip, and slide off. So one day we decided to take a minute and truly count how many ties he has. The verdict--54 ties! Can anyone beat that one? Chewy has enough ties that he would never have to wear the same tie twice to church for a whole year. It also seems that each tie has a special sentimental value from his mission, so they all must stay. Some
pictures as proof.

Date Night

January, February, March, and most of April bring nothing but cold and snow here in Rexburg. This means entertainment and activities are slim to none. The school made a new addition of an outside ice skating rink! At a pretty affordable price. So we thought we would save up for a little date night and go ice skating out in the snow--how romantic right? WRONG!!! For starters, who ever said that it is fun to ice skate in the freezing cold is an idiot. You can wear as many layers as you want and yet the Rexburg wind can still find it's way through to skin. The skate rink was tiny. You would think with the university having 15,000 students plus they would make one big enough...wrong again. And on top of that the only ice skates they had were terrible hockey ones that no one can skate on. Our feet hurt, our hands were numb, our faces were frozen, and we left after 5 minutes on the ice. What a waste of six bucks. Luckily we snapped a few shots before leaving.

Stupid ice skates

After our terrible idea date we headed to the happiest place in Rexburg. My sister Michelle calls it the "Cupcake Factory", and it truly is. The Coco Bean. Making delicious cupcakes everyday. It just so happened that that night was Coco Bean's birthday. They had a little game where a select few would get a birthday hat. Then they would each sing their own version of Happy Birthday and the winners would get FREE CUPCAKES. Guess who sang....ME! Yes, I sang out loud, in front of a huge group of people I have never before. And to make it sure, I did not win. Oh well, I got a delicious cupcake anyways.

Chewy...Gaining Weight?

I don't know what happened after Christmas, but I think everything just got a little bit busier. Chewy started school again, and I got a part time job. As what you may ask... but of course, a nanny! It has been a crazy semester and we are both ready for a little break. But a here is a little update of the happenings since we returned from Washington. Chewy's first stop when we got home was of course the bathroom. If you had not already seen on the blog he got pretty sick during vacation and you would have thought he would have lost a whole of bunch weight. Quite the opposite. He BROKE the toilet seat!!! Right in half. We had a laugh about this one.

He looks so confused

There it is. Proof. The crack went all the way through!
